Crop last night!

October 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Yummy food, friends and fun papercrafting the night away!  Lana and Elizajane were unable to make it this time — we had a good time especially at the end of the night after eating chocolate, then laughing our heads off at this “bucket” type craft I was trying to make!

Drip 1, Drip 2, Drip Drip Drip

October 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

DRIP 1

dripSo, I have to tell you this story.  Yesterday morning I was laying in bed (half asleep) and could hear this dripping noise and assumed it was outside because we sleep with the window open and can hear when it rains.  I start to hear it more and sit up thinking, that is not outside and what the heck is that noise?  I then call Rod and say “can you hear that noise? and what is it?”.  Turns out there was water dripping from the light fixture in our bedroom right onto the bed.  It wasn’t really bad but enough to leave a big circle of water.  We have a kingsize bed so it was right in the middle at the bottom so we didn’t notice it while sleeping.  So, Rod goes upstairs, finds the leak and puts a bucket under deciding he would mend things when it drys out.  Well, this morning it happened again — he goes upstairs and there is another spot!  He has no idea how it is even coming in the house…anyhow, it will get fixed blah blah blah…

DRIP 2

I get to the store this morning and there is a drip right in front of the counter!  Best place for it to happen even though it isn’t great…

Tip of the Day!

October 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Have a hard time picking colors that look great together?  Try using paint chips from the local hardware store for inspiration.  You can use chips from the same color family together for a subtle look, or try the colors grouped together as room suggestions you see in brochures from paint manufacturers.  Why not mix and match the chips to find color combinations you’ve never dreamed of putting together.  The best part is that these chips are free!tip

Don’t have many pictures of a special friend and you want to give them a really great gift for their 40th?  Try doing a “40 reasons XXX is my best friend album”.  Use reasons both serious and lighthearted.  Try to capture your years of friendship.  It will be the best gift you ever give your friend.

Photo Editing & Adobe Photoshop Classes

September 23, 2009 · Leave a Comment

We’ve now completed 3 classes teaching 30 ladies how to take better pictures with their cameras cameraas well as how to edit them using Adobe Photoshop 7.  These classes were very successful and based on the feedback Lori is going to come up with a few more classes that expand on what you’ve recently learned.

One class she’s thinking about is how to “fix” old heritageold photo photos…this sounds like a great class!  This would be very popular with the ladies that take Joyce’s heritage classes.

Stay tuned and as soon as she comes up with a schedule I will post it here on the blog as well as inform everyone via e-mail.

We still have the classes Lori has been teaching in October and November.  Check http://www.scrapbookparade.ca/classes.php for dates and if interested e-mail scrappix@scrapbookparade.ca to see if there are any spots available.
